History: Led by Malaysian coach, Chow Kwai Lam, Tampines Rovers won their first major silverware in 2002, lifting the Singapore Cup at the old Kallang National Stadium, beating V.Sundramoothy's Jurong FC 1-0. The cup win and the arrival of Thai coach, Vorawan Chitavanich, signalled the beginning of Tampines' period of success as the Stags went on to win the S.League and Singapore Cup double in 2004. The Stags became the first Singaporean side to win the ASEAN Club Championship the following year while retaining the league title.
