History: Worn during England's UEFA Euro 2000 campaign when the team led captain Alan Shearer had a disappointing tournament, being dumped out of the group stage round with a tough group draw consisting of traditional rivals Germany, Portugal & Romania. Losing to Portugal before beating Germany to enter the final game with only Romania to beat. But a shock when England conceded a late penalty that saw England's chance of advancing to the knockout round dashed. The 2000 Euros turned out to be Shearer's final international tournament as he called time on his international career with 30 goals from 63 caps with the Three Lions. The round collared shirt may not be England's most memorable shirt, but the design certainly had a distinctive look on future England shirts to refer to with Nike's first attempt with the 2013 design a similar navy round collar look.
