History: Playing in the Eastern Counties League Division One South, Hackney Wick FC was founded in 2015 by Bobby Kasanga, a reformed ex-con for robbery at 20 years old, eager to help the youth in the London Hackney area from the path of crime and gang violence through football. A merger with London Bari in 2017 saw the club became Hackney's semi-professional club. The club first came into prominence with a collaboration with Nike as part of the brand's 'From the Grounds Up' initiative to design the club's new 2019/20 kits, designed & inspired by the club's youth players, the home kit features a fresh, uplifting all-over graphic print with yellow & black splashes on the front with the club's nickname 'The Wickers' across the chest. On the bottom left of the shirt sits a jock tag with a special inscription for the youths to think outside blocks.
