History: The 2010/11 season saw Gareth Bale breakout from a struggling left back to one of the best left winger/attacker of the decade. Holder of an unwanted Premier League record up to that point(most games without a win) in a Spurs shirt, Bale broke out in a big way in Spurs' first season playing in the Champions League against Inter Milan. Scoring his first senior hat-trick in the group stage against the newly crowned European champions at the San Siro, burning RB Maicon with his pace and again in the home leg of the clash with two assists to win 3-1 at White Hart Lane. That breakout performance confirmed his move out of a defence position to become the goalscorer at Tottenham and breaking the world transfer record in 2013 when both Real Madrid and Manchester United came calling, Bale eventually signed with Real to join a new Galacticos era to much success.
